If Google Chrome is to Mozilla Firefox and IE, Google Video is to Youtube. To fill in the gaps and the fix the minor flaws of Youtube, Google has just added an application to their premiere apps: the Google Video.

What Does It Do?

Google Video basically functions like Youtube, only that users will definitely have more control over their videos. They are currently offered to the enterprise, specifically to business owners who may have to provide an instructional video to new hirees or show their production team new methods. The user will have the sole authority to choose those people who can view the content. If there’s no invite, then there’s no way you can watch it.

The video can run for as long as an hour. Along the way, the user or the creator can modify the transitions of every scene or can devise mechanisms to allow viewers and the user to skip certain portions of the video. The size of the file can be large—it will be around 300 MB—but with 3GB worth of space given to you, surely, you’ll have more space to spare for your videos.

How Much Does It Cost?

There are different packages currently offered by Google. The free ones are called Education and Standard. The fee-based software package is the Apps Premier, which will cost you $50 per account every year. The Google Video, on the other hand, can be used by those maintaining free accounts, such as the educational users. The new application, which will be launched on September 8, can be utilized for half a year, after which the user will be charged $10 if he or she decides to stick with it.

For those who are paying a yearly fee, the Google Video will be offered to them without paying any extra cost.
