Google+ Changes Look, Makes User Experience More Personal
Google today announced a number of new features for Google+, including navigation and design changes. The result: a more “functional and flexible version of Google+,” according to Google’s blog post. More than 170 million people now have Google+ accounts, but what do people think of the update?…

Google+ has introduced a new, more personalized experience opportunity for users that to some draws comparisons to recent changes made to Facebook profiles following the conversion of pages to Timeline. The social network has dramatically changed the look of Google+ profiles with items such as interactive navigation and a new layout for the Hangouts page.

Attention Grabbing Content Sharing

Google recently indicated on its official blog that the changes were part of an effort geared to help provide users with a “seamless social experience” across its web brand. Keeping with the mission to “create a simpler, more beautiful Google” the search giant has modified a number of Google+ features including:

Customized Navigation – With the new navigation elements, which include a conveniently placed ribbon of applications, individuals can access their favorite features or make changes to their preferences more easily.

Reminiscent Content Sharing – Content sharing features, including the display of images and video, have been enhanced to allow users access to more inviting elements of pages such as prominent picture posts and streaming conversation cards.

New Hangouts Space – With the new Hangouts page, users can form more personalized connections by accessing an invitations listing that stays updated, tools for forming new connections, and popular hangouts and other information via a rotating billboard.
Storytelling Profile – The new format allows for the display of photos and content that welcomes other users to an intimate telling of their personalized story.
Additional features have also been added that may have an impression on the reported more than 170 million Google+ users and counting the site has garnered to date. Individuals may read more about the Google+ updates on the official Google blog.
