They may be products of genius minds, but it doesn’t mean that you can do whatever you can with them. Just to make sure that you don’t end up in sandbox or be banned forever, here are some tips on how to deal with search engines:

1. Don’t spam. Submitting your website once is fine, but doing this for days will definitely get you the boot that you deserve. Make sure that you can read the guidelines in submitting websites to search engines. Oftentimes the reason why you get rejected is because you didn’t follow the instructions.

2. Get rid of invisible text. Don’t trick search engine spiders with invisible texts. These are usually nonsense high-ranking keywords that only search engines could see, not the users. If you are ever get caught in doing so, you can expect the word “ban” attached to your website forever.

3. Use your meta keywords effectively. Your meta keywords shall contain words or phrases that best describe your webpages. They should not be utilized for the mere reason of ranking better in search engines. Don’t spam here too.

4. Vary the keywords for every web page. Just to give you an idea, search engines prefer natural flow of contents, and this means having related webpages talking about one central theme. With this, you already know that you need different kinds of related keywords to describe every page.

5. Avoid keyword stuffing. Don’t abuse keywords. If they don’t sound right, then don’t force them. Moreover, avoid peppering your entire page with the same phrase a lot of times. Not only does it make your copy dull, boring, and bad to read, you won’t get the favor of search engines.

Don’t underestimate the power of search engines, because once you do, they can be your meanest online enemy. Also see related article on phrase based search / LSI
