Pinterest wants to help users maximize the promotional value of their Idea Pins, with a new option that allows them to share directly on Instagram and Facebook Stories, complete with a Pinterest watermark.

As highlighted in this tweet from @whimchicThe new process will allow users to reshare their idea pens via the ‘Submit’ option, with both Facebook and Instagram stories as distribution channels.

This can be a great way to maximize your Pin stories – I mean, Idea pens – by sharing it with a potentially much wider audience in Facebook’s apps.

This can be a big boost for e-brands that want to raise awareness, with a direct connection to their Pin presence. Of course, you can also open a Facebook or Instagram store to facilitate conversions, but if Pinterest is more your thing and Idea Pins is a functional way to create compelling content, it can help you.

And Idea Pins does have some handy features, such as the easy access to ‘Ghost Mode’ to help frame every recording, and the newly updated music instrument, which sees every track you select continuously through all your Idea Pin frames, without you have to edit it manually every time.

Facilitating the interconnection between Stories tools can also help increase the value of your efforts, essentially by repositioning — though it’s also worthwhile to create unique content for each platform, where possible, because simply the same content on each again can be shared repetitively and can not succeed in taking advantage of the individual strengths of each network and function.

That’s why the Pinterest watermark is important here – the tag communicates that there is more to this story on Pinterest, which helps bring people back to your Pins, instead of making it a standalone replica of your Idea Pin content late.

Pinterest has confirmed to SMT that the new share option is being tested, but it is not yet available to everyone.
