A new study out last week by Wordfinder.yourdictionary.com used search engine and Google ad data to map the most common slang terms by state, including what we call our sweethearts when want them to pass the ketchup.
In Maine and Montana “Sweet Pea” was tops. In a dozen states, “Babe” prevailed.
Californians fill themselves up with the word “buttercup.”
New Jersey residents were most likely to use the word “gorgeous.”
