Answering Jefferson Graham question about websites being found on the internet Matt Cutts said, “Easiest thing is, think about what people are going to type to find your site. Think about what users are going to type and make sure that these keywords appear on your page.’
‘Title Tags matter,’ said Matt Cutts, ‘the users see the title tag on your web page and this is the first impression they get of your website, it should make sense and they get the impression that this is the information I need when I click on the web result. There are lots of meta tags, we say, don’t worry about the keyword tag but the description tag matters. It carries a very short summery about your website and is often shown to web searchers. You should get your title tag and description tag in pretty good shape, often time people will see and say to themselves this is exactly what I am looking for.”
Matt Cutts detailed the importance of getting inbound links in search engine optimization. “there are many places from where you can get more links. One of the biggest things that I can think of getting links is a “Blog”. You an put posts on the web and participate in the conversation. You can take part in the social media sites and find out what people are interested in and post content, compelling ideas on the web that are interesting to the users.”
‘Google indexes site in days not months,’ says Mac Cutts, ‘you don’t have to pay Google a single cent to rank higher, Google crawls automatically and indexes new URLs. There is a misconception that you have to buy ads to rank higher, it doesn’t matter you buy advertising or not we try to rank you the same way,’ he adds
